Over 100 friends of the Michael Causer Foundation and clients of our partners Rathbones, BW MacFarlane & Jackson Canter joined us for speeches, Liverpool Gins & a private viewing of the Jackson Pollock & Glenn Ligon exhibitions.
Mike and Marie Causer, Michael’s parents and Patrons of the Foundation, were guests of honour at this splendid evening coordinated by the wonderful Vicki Harper of Liverpool accountants BW MacFarlane. They were joined by two of our trustees, Lynn Pates & Emma Baldry and our project worker Rhea Fennell-Rutherford.
Peter Taaffe, MD of BW MacFarlane, welcomed the assembled throng and introduced our CEO, Stuart St V Fitzgerald who in turn introduced a video about Michael’s murder and then went on to describe the work that the Foundation is doing to support LGBT people across Merseyside and the North West. The curator of the Tate’s exhibitions treated all our guests to some illuminating words about Ligon’s and Pollock’s artistic motivation and styles.
Our special thanks are due to the Food & Beverage and Marketing teams at the Tate led by the wonderful Keith; John O’Dowd & Mark Hensby at Liverpool Distillery for their donation of Liverpool Gin; Liverpool One Bridewell for their donation of some superb wines supplied by Dev at R&H Fine Wines; Rathbones; Jackson Canter Solicitors and BW MacFarlane for their support.
